Ida has winds of 45 mph this morning. The center of the storm is over Mobile Bay with the rain shield to the north and east of the center.
Most weather stations from the Mississippi coast into the Florida panhandle are reporting wind gusts in the 30-35 mph range at this time.
Mobile: Tropical Storm Ida delayed Tuesday's inaugural departure of the new Carnival cruise ship "Fantasy" from Mobile.
In a statement on its website, Carnival Cruise Lines said the 6-day cruise scheduled to depart on Tuesday was changed to a 5-day cruise departing on Wednesday.
The storm came ashore at Dauphin Island, AL.... power was out initially over the island, most of that is back on. Power is out over 3 states in areas but most, if not all of that will be back on later today.
The slow moving system of the remnants of Ida may produce over 8 inches of rain in the eastern Carolinas over the next 5 days according to the HPC.
Note the lack of rain in our area.
Except for the rain areas in the southeast and in the northwest, the entire country is expecting above normal temperatures today.

This blog and John's TV weather had the most complete information of Ida in Louisville. More than any other station by far. Keep up the great work. I have family down there and I appreciate the updates.
