This is one of 11 lightning strikes in the launch pad area for the Space Shuttle on Friday that resulted in today's launch being delayed until Sunday evening.
There were no direct hits on the Shuttle or rocket boosters. The launch has equipment that steers lightning away from the Shuttle.
Tests are still being run this evening. No problems have been found.
Doppler rain estimates show little or no rain here as a massive area of rain weakened to some light rain northeast of Louisville this afternoon.
One inch plus around Indy with some 2 1/2 inch totals over the western suburbs.
In southern Illinois, there were some 5 and 6 inch totals around Carbondale.
About an inch and a half fell in Paducah.
