The director of NOAA is proposing the creation of The National Climate Service. The division of NOAA would look at all sides and reports concerning global warming. All would be the key word here as it seems too many look for papers and articles that only back up their views. FOr more on the proposal....click here
Bad news for the Memorial Day weekend. The GFS brings in a pretty deep trough into our part of the country which would result in daytime highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s. That would be a cool pool.
John -
Couple of questions.
1) Seems that the severe weather has stayed mostly south of us this spring. Usually by May the severe weather has moved up to our neck of the woods or even further north into the upper Midwest. Of course, we're also cooler and wetter than usual. Are those trends related, and are there any signs we'll break out of this coolish tendency after Memorial Day?
2) Are there any meteorological explanations for the fact that it so often seems to rain at morning rush hour in Louisville?
Hey there....the jet is very far south for this time of the spring so that is keeping it cool here and keeping the severe weather down there. That should change in about 2 weeks.
AM rush hour rains are coincidental. If you go back a year the evening rush hour probably had just as many days with rain....maybe more......JB
