Sunday early afternoon 5/18
Yesterday I was up in Scottsburg, IN to take part in KidsFest put on by Scott Memorial Hospital and the YMCA. The crowd was huge and the weather was great. WMPI radio was broadcasting live. John Ross was hosting the spin the wheel contest. JR had a music show just a few years ago on WHAS radio. In fact it may have been the last music show on the station before they went to all talk. His oldies show had huge ratings. You can listen to John every morning on I 105.3. He is one of the top radio DJ's in the entire region.
There is a 5% chance for severe weather is eastern KY this afternoon. No risk area for us this week as the quiet severe weather season continues.

This is what I'm worried about. I'm just waiting for the "big one" (as they say in Nascar) ... I really think its just a matter of time. I read a research article just the other day about how the warm waters in the north pacific, along the WA area-ish, and how most of the systems start in that area. They say that its because of these warm waters that they are basically exploding these systems, and then they hold the energy, then finally get into Tornado Alley where they tap into even more energy. As of yet, there hasn't been **MUCH** going on with things like this... but many people, including Iowa State and their meteorological department think it is just a matter of time. And I must say, I agree. But, on the plus side, good chasing weather!

Wow! That's John Ross? The guy who used to run those classic hits weekends on WHAS? Geez, he sounds a lot taller on the radio...well, it's good to see he's still working.
