Monday early evening 5/5

Over the weekend I posted about Cyclone Nargis that hit the SE Asia country of Myanmar. Current estimates now are that 10,000 are dead with several thousand still missing. Hardest hit was the low lying part of the country west of Yangon, the capital. The ocean has a shallow depth around this area like the Gulf of Mexico and this resulted in a very high storm surge that flooded the vast low area. Also, the rice crop has been destroyed which will add to the world food shortage problems....click here
I have seen bears before when visiting Gatlinburg, TN and the Smoky Mts. This bear that was captured over the weekend was in Orlando, Florida! The 350 pound fella had been roaming around looking for food for several days.

I have been asked to show this photo of Steinert's Grilll and Pub in New Albany which was destroyed by fire last night. The building constructed in 1877 had gone through 5 generations before being sold to the current owner a few years ago. Everybody who lives in New Albany is familiar with Steinert's....a local landmark.

Well.. the satellite is still in place! Anyone got a TV? =)
