Monday early evening 5/12

Newchina The 7.9 earthquake in China earlier today has already had over 20 aftershocks of 5.0 or stronger and one at 6.0.

Tim sent these photos in from Shelby County of the storm damage from yesterday morning. There was a severe thunderstorm with winds in excess of 60 mph which heavily damaged the fire station in Cropper, KY. Click on any photo for a larger view.

JB.. What in the tarnation is going on with all of these global disasters? Do you have an explanation? It's like the earth is settling and i wonder if the quakes are related to some of the sinkholes. And who is to say that us Americans are safe from such a quake as powerful as seen in China?

Also, is negative polar osillation the reason we are in such a cool pattern?

A lot is going on with natural disasters but none of them are really related. It is all coincidence. We have a negative NAO right now which is help keeping it cool in the east. Changes about a week and a half away.....JB
